Tutors
Tutors will interact with and deliver high-quality reading lessons based on pre-written reading lesson plans to elementary students. Tutors will teach elementary students essential reading skills including phonological awareness, phonics and word work, vocabulary, reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension, and writing.
Tutoring takes place Tuesday-Thursday from 3:00-6:00 pm at various DCPS elementary schools.
Aftercare Teacher
Reporting to the Tutoring Operations Director (TOD) and/or Program Specialist, the Aftercare Teacher plays a crucial role managing the READ USA aftercare room(s). The main responsibility will be to monitor and provide guidance to elementary students awaiting their tutoring session each day.

Teacher
Teachers will supervise and coach the delivery of high-quality reading lesson using high interest books with supportive lesson plans and phonics materials. Tutoring will include phonics and word work, vocabulary, reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. The main responsibility will be to supervise tutors at the assigned school site. Substitute teachers play a crucial role filling in when one of our regular teachers is unavailable.
